Updates and Progress with UIv4
Hello! We want to thank you for all of the feedback that you have provided and update you on the progress we have been making. We have been working diligently to resolve any issues that have been reported. Most importantly, we understand that you’ve been experiencing slowness in the new UI. We apologize for any inconvenience, and want to assure you that we are working to improve the performance as quickly as possible. Our team of developers have identified some root causes for the slowness and are actively working on the fix. We are conducting thorough testing and benchmarking to ensure that any solutions implemented resolve the issues appropriately. There are also some additional upcoming improvements that we have implemented based on the feedback we’ve received: For Configs: A full screen option is now available and more information will load so that you can see more of the file. We’ve improved the search functionality so that you can search the entirety of the config file. You can now click anywhere in a line for the Resource Tree for easier navigation. For SDTs: Anyone with access to the SDT functionality will be able to see the new icon in the top right corner. Duplicates have been removed from view to avoid confusion. Anomaly Detection + Forecasting Improvements: We have streamlined the experience so that you can view anomaly detection and forecasting functionality with fewer clicks. And more small improvement fixes! These fixes will be available in v186 and 187. If there are any specific issues that you want to follow up on, please use this thread. Otherwise, create a new thread for any issues so that we can track them accordingly. Thanks! The LogicMonitor Product team104Views4likes1CommentSingle instance vs. multi-instance logicmodules
These used to behave differently in the tree. A single instance datasource (or configsource etc.) would not have any children. If you wanted to see the data associated with that module under a device, you simply selected the module. In UIv4, you have to expand the module to show the one, singular instance under it and then click again to select it. This adds an extra click when navigating. This extra click has been avoided in the past by LM as a matter of policy (how many modules are in the “ungrouped” group to avoid adding another click to get to the data?). Also, now that multi-instance and single instance modules both have to be expanded to show the children/child, the new distinctive icon that tells you a module is multi-instance (circle with the letter M in it) makes no sense. Essentially everything acts like a multi-instance datasource. Since that’s the case, why call out the difference? In one way (adding the click) LM removed the distinction between single and multi. In the other way, they added another distinction between the two. To what purpose? Also, by having multi-instance datasources show up with an M instead of a D, the distinction there is also lost. Is it a datasource or a module? Does the M stand for module? Why doesn’t it just show a D?100Views5likes2CommentsNew UI: alert tuning tab used to have link to global DS definition
In the alert tuning tab for a group, once you found the DS you wanted to tune, you could click on the name and it would take you to the DS in question. This was handy since you needed to be sure which DS you were editing, because the alert tuning tab shows the display name, not the actual name of the DS, and many DSs can have the same display name. This linkage appears to be missing in uiv4.Solved100Views0likes9CommentsUIv4 - Managing Static Group Memberships - Huge UX Issue?
Hey y’all, I amentirelyunable to intuitout how I can move resources into a static group in UIv4 -- The closest I’ve been able to get to documentation for this are: Resource Group Overview (New UI) | LogicMonitor Changing Resource Group Membership (New UI) | LogicMonitor The last link seems to indicate controlling this on a per-Resource basis -- but Ishouldbe able to add multiples devices to a group from the group’s perspective from a usability perspective. Am I missing something completely obvious here? Mostly asking because this is the first real thing that’s severely underservedmy intuition with UIv4 -- hoping this will also elevate visibility, as I tend to bereallystrong on intuition, and LogicMonitor has suited my intuitionvery well historically.83Views6likes10CommentsUsers who do not have "manage" permissions on devices get the option to disable alerting on the device
They have this option in the UI, but when they try, they get access denied. So, some options are being hidden, but others are being shown, even though they don’t line up with the user’s actual permissions.54Views0likes2CommentsRecently deleted items shows 5 in the tree, but nothing when selected
I show “Recently Deleted Items (5)” in the resource tree, but when i click on it, it says “0 Filtered Recently Deleted Items (5 total)” in the status bar. Another victim of the timeframe defaulting to last hour. This view doesn’t need a timeframe filter, or it needs to default to “all time”.47Views2likes2CommentsSDT Icon but no schedule
I’ve got one customer’s group that appears to be in SDT. All objects under it (although not some groups) have the SDT icon. I noticed that when i am on an instance under that customer, the SDT tab shows no SDTs. This is despite the icon showing that it’s in SDT. I started walking up to the instance group, DS, device, resource groups. All are showing no SDTs even though there is an SDT icon.Something’s not getting painted right in the resource tree. Just noticed that the SDT tab shows “0 Filtered Sdts (1 Total)”, in the status bar. However, on the right, it shows “All Results Shown”. Those seem to contradict each other. I don’t have any filters applied, so i’m not sure why i’m not seeing it. Update, just changed the time filter from 1 hour to all time and now i see the active SDT. So, the timeframe filter doesn’t make any sense. My SDT is active, so why wouldn’t it show up? Because either the start or the end are not in the last hour? It’s active, that’s right now. It should show up if it’s active. This particular SDT has a 1000 year, 8 month, 2 days, and 2 hour duration. It started in September and goes for 1000 years (because there’s no permanent SDT option). Unless there’s a compelling reason to have the timeframe filter on the SDT tab, I’d say remove it. If there is, have it default to all time as that will be the timeframe needed 99.99% of the time.45Views2likes2Comments
