New UI Impact Series - Device Group Inventory Tab
The Device Group Inventory Tab is another feature in LogicMonitor's new UI that streamlines inventory analysis for IT professionals. This feature comes auto-populated for all resource groups and is pre-configured to display regularly used inventory report fields such as IP addresses, operating systems, and version information. By providing this information in an easy-to-read table format, the Device Group Inventory Tab eliminates the need to click into individual devices to gather simple inventory data, saving you time and effort in day-to-day operations. Let's get into the impact this feature will have on you. IT teams can now gain a quick, comprehensive overview of their resource groups without building custom reports or navigating multiple device pages. For instance, when examining a dynamic group of network devices, users can instantly access a tabular view of all resources within that group, showcasing essential details. Having this information displayed in an easy-to-see way speeds up inventory analysis and facilitates faster decision-making and troubleshooting. Additionally, the ability to download and export this data as a CSV file makes it easy to share your findings with your team, streamlining team collaboration and efficiency. By simplifying the inventory analysis process, the Device Group Inventory Tab encourages IT professionals to focus more on strategic tasks and less on data gathering, ultimately leading to more effective resource management. Hi, I am fairly new to LogicMonitor and this is my first time using the community, so forgive me if this has already been asked/answered somewhere.. but is there a way that you can exclude specific devices/device groups from a widget within a dashboard? As an example, I don’t want our File Servers to appear on our Volume Utilization widget as each of the disks will always be operating at 90%+ utilization, so I’d like to at least have to option to exclude them as “known exceptions” if you like. I couldn’t see any logical settings within the widget itself which I could amend to configure this, and I alsoreported this to customer support team who said that there isn’t currently a global expression which could be applied to the widget in order match our requirement. Does anyone know whether I’m missing a trick here or whether this has is on the LogicMonitor roadmap for the future? Thanks in advance!244Views6likes3CommentsCan we remove the add button in Resources based on roles?
At the moment when a user has view permissions on any folder within the resources tab they are also able to see and use (to an extent) the add button, this is within both the UIs For addition of a device and and Cloud account it pops up that permissions are denied quickly, but for Kubernetes cluster and device groups it seems to be it denies alot later, when you attempt to save This also means that you can use dynamic queries to run a search, test it and then export to csv the output Is there a way that we can add a role so that we can stop this button being viewed at all other than to stop them having the ability to see the resources tab altogether?43Views9likes2CommentsWebsite Monitoring & Resources
Though this isn’t technically included in the Fall Launch, I’m curious as to when LogicMonitor intends to finally create parity between Websites and Resources and merge them under the same directory? As I understand it this has been on the horizon for some time, I’m curious if there are any formal plans at this point.54Views12likes1CommentHost Status errors corrected by logging into Collector server.
Every night we receive “Host Status” messages on several servers on one collector. You cannot “!ping” to those servers from the Collector’s debug console. However, you can ping those servers that Logic Monitor reports as down. If I log into the collector, the Host Staus messages clear (only login, do not open anything). This is what is baffling us. Has anyone seen anything like this? Thank you very much for your help.109Views10likes1CommentUIv4 - Managing Static Group Memberships - Huge UX Issue?
Hey y’all, I amentirelyunable to intuitout how I can move resources into a static group in UIv4 -- The closest I’ve been able to get to documentation for this are: Resource Group Overview (New UI) | LogicMonitor Changing Resource Group Membership (New UI) | LogicMonitor The last link seems to indicate controlling this on a per-Resource basis -- but Ishouldbe able to add multiples devices to a group from the group’s perspective from a usability perspective. Am I missing something completely obvious here? Mostly asking because this is the first real thing that’s severely underservedmy intuition with UIv4 -- hoping this will also elevate visibility, as I tend to bereallystrong on intuition, and LogicMonitor has suited my intuitionvery well historically.85Views6likes10CommentsUpdates and Progress with UIv4
Hello! We want to thank you for all of the feedback that you have provided and update you on the progress we have been making. We have been working diligently to resolve any issues that have been reported. Most importantly, we understand that you’ve been experiencing slowness in the new UI. We apologize for any inconvenience, and want to assure you that we are working to improve the performance as quickly as possible. Our team of developers have identified some root causes for the slowness and are actively working on the fix. We are conducting thorough testing and benchmarking to ensure that any solutions implemented resolve the issues appropriately. There are also some additional upcoming improvements that we have implemented based on the feedback we’ve received: For Configs: A full screen option is now available and more information will load so that you can see more of the file. We’ve improved the search functionality so that you can search the entirety of the config file. You can now click anywhere in a line for the Resource Tree for easier navigation. For SDTs: Anyone with access to the SDT functionality will be able to see the new icon in the top right corner. Duplicates have been removed from view to avoid confusion. Anomaly Detection + Forecasting Improvements: We have streamlined the experience so that you can view anomaly detection and forecasting functionality with fewer clicks. And more small improvement fixes! These fixes will be available in v186 and 187. If there are any specific issues that you want to follow up on, please use this thread. Otherwise, create a new thread for any issues so that we can track them accordingly. Thanks! The LogicMonitor Product team112Views4likes1CommentDifferent clock format on alerts (resource)
Alerts in UIV3 shows them in 24H format, but in the new UIV4 it shows them in 12H AM/PM format. This happens when viewing alerts on a resource or instance, but when going to the alerts page all alerts are in 12H format on both versions. It’s hard to know if this is an issue with v4 or if it was happening the whole time. However, it’s easy to see that it’s wrong now. When we set permanent SDT on something, we typically just change the first digit of the year from a 2 to a 3. Meaning, we change the SDT so it ends 1000 years in the future. In the old UI, it would calculate the duration of the SDT and show it in minutes and seconds. The new UI adds years, months, days, and minutes (at least). For one SDT i just set from 2023-03-23 02:11 PM EDT to 3023-03-23 02:11 PM, the new UI shows 1000 years, 8 months, 2 days, and 59 minutes. Unless there’s going to be a new ceasar and a new calendar (possible), I don’t know why it has anything other than 1000 years exactly. Where did the 8 months, 2 days, and 59 minutes come from? For reference the old UI shows 365242 days 59 minutes. I get the 365000 days, +/- a few for leap day anomalies. But even in the old UI, where did the 59 minutes come from?33Views1like0Comments
