Website response times on Big Number & Chart widget
We have a use case to show "Response Times" from a subset of configured Websites. Ideally I'd like this to be in the Big Number widget. We also want to able to chart a subset of my Websites' response times over time in the Chart widget. Anyone found a useful workaround to achieve this? Would LM consider "upgrading" widgets to allow the presentation of Website data? Currently only the SLA widget seems capable of handling Website data.7Views3likes1CommentMake Instance Groups searchable/filterable
Hello, We'd like to request some more usage for instance groups. Right now, it's just not very useful to group instances on a datasource. We have shared devices with datasources belonging to different teams and we have to create dashboards and alarm rules regarding those. Right now, we have to use the wildcard filter in a "creative" way to have shared devicealerts and dashboards from different teams configured. It would be really helpful if the instance-group namecould be used in Filters. Use-Case: * To configure alert rules for shared devices for different teams, we can group all datasource-instances in instance groups named "teamname" and then filter on "teamname", this works even when we use "*" for device/devicegroup, as long as instancegroup "teamname" is persistent over multiple shared devices. * To have dashboards for shared devices on a per-team base, we can filter for the teamname when creating those dashboards. This also works with "*" as device/devicegroup query, so instances on new devices will be added automatically. Hello LM Team, It would be great if the NOC widget in the Dashboards have the possibility to filter out inactive devices and show only the ones that actually have alerting enabled. For example we have VCenter that have 1500 virtual machines, but only about 10% of them are to be monitored at all times, so by default alerting is disabled for all VM machines from VCenter but these we actually need. Unfortunately the NOC widget will show us everything from that Datasource and it's problematic. Thank you.11Views2likes1CommentDefault setting for new alert widget columns
I noticed today that the alert widget had defaulted to having Static Threshold and Dynamic Threshold set as enabled. This messed up our dashboard column widths and layouts and we had to go through and reconfigure them. Please, please, please do not default new columns to enabled. Newthings should be disabled by default.2Views1like0CommentsWidget for ping monitoring
Hi Everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to create a widget, that will show the top ten servers that have a ping of above 100ms. I can make the standard ping widget, but I don't see a way to limit the graph to those servers that have a high ping. Do I need to use the virtual datapoint? Or, maybe I need clarification on what it means when I select top 10 on an average, or maxrtt datapoint. Thanks!33Views1like6CommentsMaximum Number of Dashboards in Slideshow
Hello all, This is my first time posting a question in the forums. I wanted to know if there is a limit to the number of Dashboards that can be added to a Slideshow dashboard rotation? I work in my company's NOC (network operations center) and have somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 dashboards that my group needs to keep track of. It seems the number of dashboards I can add before a previously added dashboard is removed is 26. Does anyone know if this is a hard limit or is this a setting that our LM administrators can adjust? Looking forward to responses, Steve V.14Views1like1CommentNested/Cascading Dashboards
I've been looking at how best to represent the status of a service / application using Dashboards within LogicMonitor. It would be really useful if we could nest/cascade dashboards, so that you could represent items at a very high-level (e.g. overall status of your datacentre infrastructure) and then be able to drill down through underlying dashboards, etc. I've found that a similar functionality request was submitted some time ago by another member, but that was back in 2014.6Views1like0CommentsAllow Role Assignment to Nested Dashboards
I would like the option to assign view/manage role access to dashboards that exist within a dashboard group. We usewall mounted displays that cycle dashboards in a group for various clients using the slideshow feature. These displays are used by our support team so that they can keep an eye on clients at a high-level. We also want to provide a key contact at some of these client companies with view access to their respective dashboards. I see two ways to accomplish this currently: 1. We can clone the dashboard within the client dashboard group, then assign our client contactview access to the cloned dashboard. This allows us to keep the functionality of the dashboard group for our support team, but requires several duplicate dashboards. 2. We can skip the dashboard group and assign access for our support team and client contacts on a per-dashboard basis. This omits duplicate dashboards, but requires additional management of role permissions when creating new dashboards. Adding the ability to assign role permissions to nested dashboards would allow for simple access management for the support team, providing access to all dashboards within the "Clients" group, while also allowing one-off access to individual dashboards for client contacts without having to manage multiple dashboards per client. A simple toggle arrow (as is used in the Devices tree) could be implemented as a UI element to add this basic access management.3Views1like0CommentsDashboard Widget for Reports
Filethis in the "nice to have" bucket. I would like to keep my dashboard-only customers in front of LM as much as possible. Today, Reports can be viewed from running the report inside the Reports tab, or scheduled/emailed out. How about adding a widget that could access a selected report, formatted for HTML. This provides a single place to review most recent, and past report-runswithout leaving the dashboard, and allows users to correlate Report output with other information shown on the dashboard. Today we can use the URL from an HTML Report, andstuff it into the HTML Widget. Managing this manually is difficult since new runs of the report will have a unique URL, so the HTML widget would then need to be updated with the current HTML Report URL. I tried to do this myself using LM RPC/REST but cannot find any API calls to access the Reports. Thoughts?9Views1like2Comments
