Online documentation for UIv4?
Today I got a popup in the UI saying that UIv4 is about to be forced on us for reports, settings, collector settings, audit logs, and more, apparently by April 30. Which is in 2 days. Shame on me I guess for not looking at collector release notes I guess, since in the past I could trust them to not be functionally radical. No time in the day. Anyway I decided to start learning the UIv4 for reports first, since thats the one that will impact normal users the most, and it looks to me like the page is still for UIv3. Its a problem I have generally, that all these UIv4 changes are coming, but when I look at online documentation (searching for something like, logicmonitor reports documentation) its almost always UIv3. At least nothing looks like UIv4 in this reports link that came up. I tried linking the URL in this post but the Publish button worked so here is a screenshot of the official support page titled "Creating & Managing Reports": That image above is definitely UIv3. So I guess my question is, given that we are required to deal with this new UI, when will all the official support pages start showing UIv4 info? I'm going to have to re-learn everything, on a short notice apparently, and while I can hunt and peck in the new UI, I'm wondering if there are any official documentation replacement pages for UIv4 for the entirety of the portal? I probably disagree with LM on whether their new UI is intuitive or not, but there needs to be official documentation. And perhaps there is. I'm asking. :)92Views1like1CommentUIv4 instances when there are none?
Perhaps I just wasn't paying attention previously, but does the new UI show everything has an instance even when it's not a multi-instance DataSource now? Is that a recent change? It automatically jumps to the "instance" when you click on the DataSource entry so not really causing an issue but kinda threw me for a loop when I thought a DataSource I was working on was somehow creating instances when it shouldn't. Seems kinda odd and perhaps confusing when training on what instances are if everything looks like it has one.99Views9likes3CommentsInfo and Overview resource tabs
I’d like to know what is planned to make the overview and info tabs for resources easier to use/more useful. My experience with the info tab is that there is just too much information on it for my day to day tasks. It’s all useful to have, but the details I need most are spread out through a very long list and I honestly don’t remember what the property names of them are most of the time. Is there something in the works to make this easier? If I could pin which properties are most important to me to the top of the screen, that’d be helpful. Being able to put them in a table on the overview tab would also be very helpful. Right now, I’m not really using the overview tab much since I can’t put what would be useful on it. To me these seem like they should be device level dashboards. Are there any plans to add more functionality to this tab? I’d need more tabular data instead of just graphs (important details from the info tab, instance level info from various datasources, etc.)280Views19likes16CommentsDo you use the New UIv4? Any lost functionality?
I’m curious to what degree other power users here actually use the new UI? I took it as a challenge myself this week to start using it since it seems LM is committed to using it. I’m not a fan, but I’m not sure how much of that is just because its new. I struggle to find some things. It took me way too long to find out where the collector debug option was hidden. And I still cant find the “instances” count in the columns of information where it used to be, and I don’t see it as a column I can add. So I’m just wondering, do you all like the new UI? Do you use it? Are there important places where you have lost functionality or information? Thanks!184Views14likes4CommentsLogicModule Updates in UIV4
Hi Community I wanted to install the LogicModules updates today and came across the following problem. For various DataSources, which I have already customized, I can no longer see the difference view before the update. It says "The contents haven't changed" but why should it then show me this module in the updates? Examples of DataSources are "HP_System_CPU", "SSL_Certificate_Chains", "Cisco_UCS_Sessions", "EMC_PowerMax_RDFDirector", "VMware_VeloCloud_EdgeHealth" and many more. Do you have similar problems with UIV4? I don't think I pressed a wrong button in the difference view or something similar. Otherwise a big fan of the new option to upgrade modules ;) Greetings DorianSolved251Views15likes5Comments
