Feature request - Add suppression type to the alert list widget
I had a case with Logicmonitor support where I asked if it was possible to filter away alerts that fall under a cluster alert. Here I got the suggestion to use routing state but this does not give anyvalue on a cluster alert. The support engineer looked further into it. "I have tested this further and unfortunately using the routingstate filter is not going to work here as this relates to suppressed by Root Cause Analysis. I'm afraid I'm not seeing an alternative way to removed suppressed alerts from the alerts dashboard widget” So my suggestion is to add suppression type to the filter of the alert list widget.48Views19likes0CommentsAlert clustering based on matching datasource instances across grouped devices
I have a device group that has the same datasource applied. This datasource auto-discovers and will spin up matching instances across all devices in the group. I would like to have clustered alerts based on the matched instances across all devices in the group. For example, (pardon the ASCII-like visualization) ClusterGroup |__ Device1 | |__ DatasourceA | |_ Instance_ABC | |_ Datapoint_I | |_ Datapoint_II | |_ Instance_DEF | |_ Datapoint_I | |_ Datapoint_II | |_ Instance_GHI | |_ Datapoint_I | |_ Datapoint_II |__ Device2 | |__ DatasourceA | |_ Instance_ABC | |_ Datapoint_I | |_ Datapoint_II | |_ Instance_DEF | |_ Datapoint_I | |_ Datapoint_II | |_ Instance_GHI | |_ Datapoint_I | |_ Datapoint_II |__ Device3 |__ DatasourceA |_ Instance_ABC |_ Datapoint_I |_ Datapoint_II |_ Instance_DEF |_ Datapoint_I |_ Datapoint_II |_ Instance_GHI |_ Datapoint_I |_ Datapoint_II If Instance_ABC's Datapoint_I is alerting at the specified cluster threshold in my hypothetical group, I want to generate a cluster alert. If some time afterwards, the situation in my environment gets worse and Instance_GHI's Datapoint_II is alerting at the specified cluster threshold, I want another cluster alert for that instance-datapoint as well.10Views0likes1CommentSQL Service Monitoring in Cluster
Anyone know why my Cluster Monitoring isn't working as expected. I've got two SQL Servers in failover cluster mode, I want to alert only when the SQL Services are not running on both. I've tried it with both "Device", "Datasource Instance" So I think I've set this up to say when there is more than one critical alert on the data source"State", make a critical alert, but I've obviously done something wrong9Views0likes0CommentsCluster Alert Routing
It would be immensely helpful if I could see and test alert routing from the Cluster Alerts page at the device group level similar to the existingAlert Routing button on the Alert Tuning tab. As we begin to more heavily utilize this functionality, it's critical that we can verify that alerts are routed correctly wherever we set it up.4Views1like0Commentscluster alert improvements
Hello, we would love the ability to have the cluster alert give us a list of instance names that have triggered the cluster alert. Another is filtering based off of an instance name. Example, let's say I have 3 devices that all have 3 instances named something like Device1 --- Device2 --- Device3 a1-dns1.blah d1-dns1.blah g2-dns1.blah b6-dns2.blah e2-dns2.blah h1-dns2.blah c1-dns3.blah f1-dns3.blah i2-dns3.blah While you can see all the instances are a different name, the last part of the name is still common with some of the others (dns1.blah, dns2.blah, dns3.blah) I would like the ability to say trigger the alert if 2or more regex groups match.. ie.. [a-z][0-9](dns[0-9].blah)22Views1like4CommentsWindows_Cluster_Failover
R79DJL I'm not sure if this datasource was removed intentionally, but there was a datasource named "Windows_Cluster_Failover" that monitored for cluster failover events. We've been using this datasource, but we noticed that it triggered a false alarm last night which prompted me to go back and rebuild it. This datasource will monitor a Windows cluster for a failover event. If a failover is detected, it will be logged in the LogicMonitor's installation directory (Default is "c:/Program Files (x86)/LogicMonitor/bin/"). The datasource exits if certain calls fail altogether (to prevent false alerts) and there is a separate alert that will trigger if the datasource continuously fails to get data. So far this appears to be working more reliably, so I thought I'd share.3Views0likes1CommentCustom alert messages per Cluster
I'm coming around to love clustered alerts as more of my company moves to dynamic environments. But I really need to be able to customize the email alert messaging for clustered alerts. So I would like to see two things: 1. The ability to set a custom alert message per clustered alert 2. The ability to assign properties to clustered alerts so that they can be referenced in the alert message via ##TOKENS##.10Views1like1Comment
