Thanks Mike_Rodrigues - the support ticket number is 00307439. Would be happy to demonstrate the issue for you on a call if that helps. The datasource does allow me to add a CDP, but when I do then the datasource stops polling altogether until I remove it. Support also recommended using a service insight, which could work in the short term. But service insights are not scalable so would not be a good solution for us since we would have to manually create a service for each synthetic check in order to effectively alert. Maybe a dynamic service insight could work once they are released. It would really benefit us and others who use synthetics if we are able to create complex datapoints, so that we don't have to use additional licensing on service insights just to do the same thing as a CDP.6Views0likes1CommentRe: How to alert when we STOP receiving logs?

I would like to request that we have the option to create complex datapoints for the below 2 datasources. These modules currently cannot be customized without breaking, which LM support confirms is intended behavior for the synthetic datasources. Selenium_Synthetics_Overall SyntheticsSelenium I have a need to stop alerting on a specific status code (430 - Session not Created) which can only be done using a complex datapoint. This status code is reported when there is an issue with the Selenium node itself, not with the synthetic check necessarily. So when the Selenium node has an issue, we get a false alert from every synthetic check assigned to the Selenium node. We want to have alerts for a status code of 430 alert via a separate datapoint so we can route them to the team who manages the Selenium node. We recently had an issue where we needed to review logs from a router during a P1 outage, but found that LM had stopped receiving logs from the device 2 weeks ago. We need a way to have a "No Data" type of alert for logs, so that if a device stops sending us logs we can be notified and resolve the issue. Instead of finding out 2 weeks later when the logs are needed during an outage. I noticed that in UIv4, several types of alert links no longer open a new tab when you click on them. Instead they open the link in the current tab. This makes it frustrating to drill down into alerts when looking at a dashboard or list of alerts on the Resources tab. The below types of alert links no longer open a new tab, where they always have prior to UIv4. This negatively affects our NOC's workflow of troubleshooting alerts during an outage. Hi Sky, following up on this as its been 5 months and issue has not been addressed. Having the duration on cleared alerts was very useful and allowed us to see how long cleared alerts are active for. That value has been removed from UIv4. Now with the new UI it just tells us how long ago the alert triggered. This is completely useless since the time the alert triggered is shown in the same column. Just want to reiterate that THIS IS NOT A FEATURE REQUEST. In the current Dependent Alert Mapping feature, alert suppression will only take place if an upstream device has an alert for the Ping or Host Status datasources for overall reachability. There are many cases where the upstream device will not be completely down, and instead will have an alert for an interface or BGP peer going down. This will still impact downstream devices, but Dependent Alert Mapping does not work correctly in these cases because the upstream device was not technically "down". I would like to request that the Dependent Alert Mapping feature give us the option to allow other types of alerts be considered when it determines what alert is "Originating" vs "Dependent". Ideally we would be able to define this when we are defining entry points. We could have the option of only using Ping or Host Status like the feature does today, or we could choose to select our own datasources for determining what the "Originating" alert is. Yeah LM actually did make an update recently to this. If you go to Manage your dashboard you can see a "Default Filters" section at the bottom now. You can use that to build out whatever properties you want your users to filter on. Once you set up your default filters on the dashboard-level, you will have a view named "Default" which will apply your filters.14Views0likes0Comments
