Rubrik Monitoring package - REST API being retired

I am hearing that Rubrik is retiring their REST API in favor of GraphQL. This will likely impact the Rubrik monitoring package in LM since the REST API will no longer work.

The below documentation from Rubrik suggests that starting with version 9, the REST API will not be supported. It is not clear if there will be backwards compatibility with old REST API tokens but it could cause monitoring to stop working when customers upgrade to version 9.

Does LM have plans to update the Rubrik monitoring package to use GraphQL queries instead of API calls?

    Hi, Matt_Whitney

I can confirm that our Monitor Engineering team is aware and this has been on our radar since late October. The improvement is in development, however, I do not have an ETA to share with you on when the work will be done.

  • I don't think that the integration works anymore, or I'm having issues getting it working. Kwame_A was there any update on it?

      Hi, jameswilson

      The short answer is: No.

Currently, our integration utilizes Rubrik's Cloud Data Management (CDM) API, which is REST-based. However, Rubrik has introduced the Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC), a platform leveraging GraphQL that manages multiple CDM environments.

To align our existing Rubrik modules with RSC, we're undertaking a significant overhaul. While we're actively working to develop these updated modules, our current estimate for release remains broadly targeted for sometime this year. We appreciate your patience as we work through this important transition.

In the meantime, rest assured that our integration with Rubrik CDM continues to be fully supported.

If you have an immediate need for integration with RSC and cannot wait for the updated modules, I highly recommend connecting with your Customer Success Manager. They can assist you in exploring options, such as engaging our Professional Services team, to develop a customized solution tailored to your specific needs.
