I have a datasource in my Sandbox called “Report to Text Widget” that will take an existing csv report, convert to HTML and then display it in a textwidget. I’ve used it before but it has been a long time and frankly I can’t remember how to set it up. Mike Suding had instructions on his blog on how to set it up but I’m not able to get to his site for some reason. Anyway, it might be something you could use. Common Config Sources vs Legacy LM Config Sources We use LM Config and have since day 1. I’m wondering if any of you have migrated off the legacy LM Config sources and onto the “Common Config” method? What sort of gaps in data did you have? I’m sort of stuck on the idea of having to dump one for another or potentially have some that work only with legacy vs Common methods? Seems like it could be hard to manage. Do you have any challenges today using the new way? Re: New Cisco Meraki Datasources Dropped I don’t know what an LM Envision License is. Envision has been in use for over a year now, but we still don’t know what it means. If your product names don’t make sense, fire the marketing team and start over. Sounds like a rename and expansion of LM Cloud? Basically the general move from using on-prem Collectors to using LM provided Cloud Collectors for monitoring services that are cloud-based and don’t require direct customer network access? No, you are still using your collectors to do this monitoring. Why isn’t LM providing this monitoring using their collectors? FWIW: I’ve all but completely written off the new VMWare and Meraki modules. Their rollout has been so bad that I can’t trust that any of it works. Plus, the new Meraki modules are a money grab intended to increase your license count (because LM will charge by Meraki devices instead of Network like the “legacy” modules do). Yes, they may provide additional capabilities, but none of that has been communicated clearly in a way that speaks to any of my use cases. Yeah the LM Envision Collectors confused me as did the LM Envision License talk. I thought it was something new, specifically for monitoring stuff like this but it’s not. It’s just a collector and a regular resource license. What will be next, Wireless Controllers? Imagine going from 1 WLC with 3000 AP’s(instances) to 3000 resources. Yikes. New Cisco Meraki Datasources Dropped Has anyone implemented these? I imported the Meraki Camera Health DS just to have a look at it and the Technical Notes read as follows: Requires **Cisco_Meraki_API** DataSource to collect data. Reports normal system.hoststatus when device is online. This module applies to LM Envision resources that represent discrete Meraki devices. These modules are not in-place upgrades from legacy Meraki modules that applied to LM Envision resources which represent a Meraki Org or Meraki Network. Each LM Envision resource that this module applies to will consume a LogicMonitor license. Prior to implementing, check with your administrator to ensure you have sufficient LM Envision licenses. For more information about migration from legacy modules and onboarding of discrete Meraki devices, see [Cisco Meraki Monitoring](https://www.logicmonitor.com/support/cisco-meraki-monitoring) product documentation. I don’t know what an LM Envision License is. The tech notes also reference what appears to be some new internet facing collectors possibly called “LM Envision Collectors”. I have no clue what those are. I have almost 500 Meraki Networks currently in monitoring. Am I supposed to migrate? Opened a support ticket for some clarity but in the meantime figured I’d get a thread started here to see what everyone else is doing. Re: Seeing Failed To Parse ServiceNow Integration Another annoyance here is not being able to easily alert on this. I would love to be able to webhook out to our chat client when failures happen. Instead I have to manually go and check every few days to make sure things are flowing properly. I tried setting up a web check for the inbound web service in Service Now but the http response was just too much information for it to be useful. My thought was to watch for errors on the inbound web service and alert on timeouts etc. Re: CSV Import Props Help I don’t think that will work but you could do a test import with a few devices and see. If it doesn’t work then I would just break out the devices according to which collector they need to be assigned to. Re: Seeing Failed To Parse ServiceNow Integration When you expand on one of the failures what is shown for the HTTP Response? Re: Config Backup Reports You can do a dashboard with a NOC style widget(s). Have one show “retreival check” problems and another that could show “change detected” info. While it wont show those dates mentioned above it does give a graphical representation of the bigger picture. Re: Finding VMware's most recent vulnerability I needed this as well some time ago, probably for the very same reason. Did it this way. import com.santaba.agent.groovyapi.esx.ESX import com.vmware.vim25.mo.* def host = hostProps.get("system.hostname") def user = hostProps.get("esx.user") def pass = hostProps.get("esx.pass") def addr = hostProps.get("esx.url") ?: "https://${host}/sdk" def svc = new ESX() svc.open(addr, user, pass, 10 * 1000) // timeout in 10 seconds def si = svc.getServiceInstance() def rootFolder = si.getRootFolder() // Get resource clusters HostSystem esxHost = new InventoryNavigator(rootFolder).searchManagedEntities("HostSystem").first() println "auto.vcenter.fullname=${si.aboutInfo.fullName}" println "auto.vcenter.build=${si.aboutInfo.build}" println "auto.vcenter.licenseproductname=${si.aboutInfo.licenseProductName}" println "auto.vcenter.os.type=${si.aboutInfo.osType}" println "auto.vcenter.product.line=${si.aboutInfo.productLineId}" println "auto.vcenter.version=${si.aboutInfo.version}" return 0 Re: Palo Alto XML Response Help What were your additional changes? I’m still not getting the response. As far as values - 4 so far. Off Green Yellow Red I’m going to have to read a bit more but yellow can mean “passive” for HA yet for temp it’s “outside of normal range” which could technically be bad. Red is definitely bad.
