Any Limits to Escalation Chain recipient size?

Right now, we have most of our escalation chains going to 4 or 5 targets.

Most common case, a single escalation chain may go to:

* Recipient Group (emails) for the internal team that manages the resources
* Integration point for pager/on-call
* Integration point to some external messaging chat
* Integration point to ticketing system (Prod)
* Recipient Group for 1 or 2 Integration points for the ticketing system (dev, test, int)

Sometimes the first 3 may already be combined into a recipient group, but in terms of the actual work under the hood, this is typical.

Has anyone seen any issues? How robust is LM in this regard? Do alerts get lost? Anybody have experience with it? Can I add more, or am I already on thin ice?

  • Apologies for the late answer but the only issue we have found there to be a hard limit in the groups  in alert rules of around 800 characters. If you exceed it , the latest additions stop , back out a few , and create another rule for the overflow.
