UIv4 - Managing Static Group Memberships - Huge UX Issue?
Hey y’all, I amentirelyunable to intuitout how I can move resources into a static group in UIv4 -- The closest I’ve been able to get to documentation for this are: Resource Group Overview (New UI) | LogicMonitor Changing Resource Group Membership (New UI) | LogicMonitor The last link seems to indicate controlling this on a per-Resource basis -- but Ishouldbe able to add multiples devices to a group from the group’s perspective from a usability perspective. Am I missing something completely obvious here? Mostly asking because this is the first real thing that’s severely underservedmy intuition with UIv4 -- hoping this will also elevate visibility, as I tend to bereallystrong on intuition, and LogicMonitor has suited my intuitionvery well historically.85Views6likes10CommentsUpdates and Progress with UIv4
Hello! We want to thank you for all of the feedback that you have provided and update you on the progress we have been making. We have been working diligently to resolve any issues that have been reported. Most importantly, we understand that you’ve been experiencing slowness in the new UI. We apologize for any inconvenience, and want to assure you that we are working to improve the performance as quickly as possible. Our team of developers have identified some root causes for the slowness and are actively working on the fix. We are conducting thorough testing and benchmarking to ensure that any solutions implemented resolve the issues appropriately. There are also some additional upcoming improvements that we have implemented based on the feedback we’ve received: For Configs: A full screen option is now available and more information will load so that you can see more of the file. We’ve improved the search functionality so that you can search the entirety of the config file. You can now click anywhere in a line for the Resource Tree for easier navigation. For SDTs: Anyone with access to the SDT functionality will be able to see the new icon in the top right corner. Duplicates have been removed from view to avoid confusion. Anomaly Detection + Forecasting Improvements: We have streamlined the experience so that you can view anomaly detection and forecasting functionality with fewer clicks. And more small improvement fixes! These fixes will be available in v186 and 187. If there are any specific issues that you want to follow up on, please use this thread. Otherwise, create a new thread for any issues so that we can track them accordingly. Thanks! The LogicMonitor Product team112Views4likes1CommentDifferent clock format on alerts (resource)
Alerts in UIV3 shows them in 24H format, but in the new UIV4 it shows them in 12H AM/PM format. This happens when viewing alerts on a resource or instance, but when going to the alerts page all alerts are in 12H format on both versions. It’s hard to know if this is an issue with v4 or if it was happening the whole time. However, it’s easy to see that it’s wrong now. When we set permanent SDT on something, we typically just change the first digit of the year from a 2 to a 3. Meaning, we change the SDT so it ends 1000 years in the future. In the old UI, it would calculate the duration of the SDT and show it in minutes and seconds. The new UI adds years, months, days, and minutes (at least). For one SDT i just set from 2023-03-23 02:11 PM EDT to 3023-03-23 02:11 PM, the new UI shows 1000 years, 8 months, 2 days, and 59 minutes. Unless there’s going to be a new ceasar and a new calendar (possible), I don’t know why it has anything other than 1000 years exactly. Where did the 8 months, 2 days, and 59 minutes come from? For reference the old UI shows 365242 days 59 minutes. I get the 365000 days, +/- a few for leap day anomalies. But even in the old UI, where did the 59 minutes come from?33Views1like0CommentsSDT Icon but no schedule
I’ve got one customer’s group that appears to be in SDT. All objects under it (although not some groups) have the SDT icon. I noticed that when i am on an instance under that customer, the SDT tab shows no SDTs. This is despite the icon showing that it’s in SDT. I started walking up to the instance group, DS, device, resource groups. All are showing no SDTs even though there is an SDT icon.Something’s not getting painted right in the resource tree. Just noticed that the SDT tab shows “0 Filtered Sdts (1 Total)”, in the status bar. However, on the right, it shows “All Results Shown”. Those seem to contradict each other. I don’t have any filters applied, so i’m not sure why i’m not seeing it. Update, just changed the time filter from 1 hour to all time and now i see the active SDT. So, the timeframe filter doesn’t make any sense. My SDT is active, so why wouldn’t it show up? Because either the start or the end are not in the last hour? It’s active, that’s right now. It should show up if it’s active. This particular SDT has a 1000 year, 8 month, 2 days, and 2 hour duration. It started in September and goes for 1000 years (because there’s no permanent SDT option). Unless there’s a compelling reason to have the timeframe filter on the SDT tab, I’d say remove it. If there is, have it default to all time as that will be the timeframe needed 99.99% of the time.45Views2likes2CommentsRecently deleted items shows 5 in the tree, but nothing when selected
I show “Recently Deleted Items (5)” in the resource tree, but when i click on it, it says “0 Filtered Recently Deleted Items (5 total)” in the status bar. Another victim of the timeframe defaulting to last hour. This view doesn’t need a timeframe filter, or it needs to default to “all time”.47Views2likes2CommentsResizing config view pane still hides lines
When i first pull up the config, there may be 20 lines visible. So the first thing i do (since full screen is actually smaller than the regular view), is grab the pane and expand it vertically. However, when this happens, only 25of the ~80 lines are displayed. I can scroll to see the rest, but the reason i expanded the pane was so that i could see the rest without scrolling. This is easier seen in person. My guess is that when the pane initially loads, there is a “max number of lines” parameter. When the pane is resized, that parameter isn’t updated.28Views1like3CommentsMember of groups under Info tab lacking full path
On the info tab for a resource, it would display the groups the resource was in. it would show the full path. Now it only shows the name of the group. This is not good since we have several groups that have the same name, but are for very different purposes depending on which path (parent groups) the group is under. Please either add the option so i can specify whether i want full group path or just group name, or just fix it to be like UIv3 where it showed the full path. Also, having this below the properties means a lot of scrolling since our devices have lots of properties. Give me an option similar to the graphs on the graphs page where i can select the widgets be full width or two columns or three columns.22Views3likes1Comment
