Using a Dedicated Collector for each Windows Domain Controller?
We ran into trouble monitoring our Windows Domain Controllers because we want to use least privilegeand we were only receiving ping and Host Status data. It showed “No data” for CPU, disks, etc. We used the information in the link “https://www.logicmonitor.com/support/monitoring/os-virtualization/monitoring-a-domain-controller-dc” and installed the collector on a DC using the local system account and set it to monitor itself. I am now receiving CPU, disk, etc. from that domain controller. It appears the only catch is that I cannot monitor other systemswith that collector but that is OK for our situation. Are there others out there that are monitoring DCs using this method and if so, have you run into any trouble (performance, etc.)? If you are not using this method, how are you monitoring your DCs in Logic Monitor. THANK YOU very much for your assistance/opinions/guidance.Solved275Views14likes3CommentsMeraki monitoring within Logic Monitor
Hi all, I am attempting to monitor a Meraki MX appliance from LM, I have setup the API but can only see connected clients and connected status.. Is there a way to monitor the up/down status or packet loss of an MX device through LM? Thank youSolved529Views13likes3CommentsTripp Lite UPS monitoring
Hello, I was wondering, what would be the best way to monitor a Tripp Lite UPS? LM has OOB stuff for APC, Liebert, etc, but not Tripp Lite. I was in one of the LM webinars not too long ago that showed off utilizing OID’s. It doesn’t look like that one was published (yet anyways). I noticed that LM does have some OOB datasources for Eaton. Perhaps cloning them and tweaking the OID’s could potentially work? https://assets.tripplite.com/flyer/supported-snmp-oids-technical-application-bulletin-en.pdf Thanks, ZachSolved307Views16likes5CommentsPKI Password Cache monitoring?
Hello there, I am curious if monitoring can be done for this and how it would be done. Is it possible to monitor the password cache space for a PKI server? In particular, password cache for cert enrollment on Network Device Enrollment Service. By default, cert enrollment attempts are put in the cache for an hour if it is deemed incomplete and 5 attempts are allowed to be cached. You can raise this default with the PasswordMax reg key. I figured it would be helpful to monitor this to know what the key value would need to be set to or to be proactive with solving/troubleshooting issues where the cache becomes full. Perhaps a powershell script would suffice? Thanks in advance for any tips! 😄 https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/9063.active-directory-certificate-services-ad-cs-network-device-enrollment-service-ndes.aspx#Password_and_Password_Cache43Views1like0CommentsCisco UCS monitoring doubt
Hello, Nowthat a new suite of data sources is available for the UCS stuff, we're havingsome doubts on the monitoring related with the Cisco UCS Manager & their respective components (Fabric Interconnects, etc...) I'm sure the new suite removes the needof the SNMP legacy datasources (that's great btw!!!), however, we're now kinda lost on what should we add into LM (in terms of components). I'm pretty sure in the past we had to add the UCS Manager + the Fabric Interconnect devices (to fetch some hardware related info that wasn't fetched via UCS Manager), but currently, I see the same datasources applied to the UCS & both Fabrics. I'm assumingthat we only require to monitor the actual UCS Manager from now on (everything else will be monitored under it). Specially the hardware portion of both Fabric Interconnects (at least from what I'm seeing). Is my assumption correct? Or, is there anything else we need to have in mind in terms of the Fabrics. Appreciate the clarificationguys! Regards,117Views0likes3CommentsSharing Alert console filters? Is it possible?
Hello guys, We have created a few alarm 'views' for our different monitoring teams. Is there any way to share the alarm console filters (across users, roles, etc...)? If not, is that possibility coming in a near future? Appreciate your time. Regards,Solved11Views0likes2CommentsAbility to group interface instances?
Hello, As an MSP we've the need to group multiple interface instances (from different devices &different clients as well) in order to set common thresholds, reports, etc... From my research that isn't possible within LM. Anyone able to do that? This would be very useful from the monitoring/management perspective. Regards,26Views4likes2Comments
