Very basic question

Sorry for such a basic question!  We monitor vm's in Azure from an Azure-based collector.  We don't use snmp to monitor, just wmi, however in our traffic logs we see the collector attempting snmp, ms-sql, postgres, and several other ports that don't apply to this host.  Is it possible there are a bunch of 'out of the box' tests the collector is continually trying to run against the host, just in case they become available?

How can I ensure the collector only attempts to monitor the resources that were discovered?  For instance, tell the collector to stop attempting snmp calls?

Thanks!
