SQL Server Connection Status critical

I added SQL server to Logic Monitor. All properties are correct. I have SQL Server Connection Status critical error: Database connection returned an error of 1.0 on ......
Value 1 : General/Unknown error. I also have SQL Server Troubleshooter with this message: MSSQLSERVER error: Read timed out ClientConnectionId: .....

SQL related data sources are not getting any data for monitoring.

WMI permissions are correct. SQL permissions seem to be correct too.

I am not sure what is the Read timed out message related to. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this issue?

  • Yes, I ran the scripts from link you attached. Logic Modules are up to date.

Is the Remote Registry service supposed to be running? Is this a requirements for Logic Monitor to be able to communicate with SQL Server?

I can't confirm if it's required, but it is running for an example I checked. Might be on for other reasons. Would be worth temporarily starting it to see if it helps you though.

  • It didn't seem to help. Are there other services that need to be running?

  • Mike_Monizdo you know what this error means? I did RDP into Collector server, opened SSMS and tried to connect to that server that has SQL Server Connection Status critical alert:

I'm not really a SQL guy. It sounds like it wasn't able to talk with the SQL server. Like if remote management is disabled, or Windows firewall blocked it, or your internal networking isn't routing it, or the management port is not enabled, etc.
