IIS Log Aggregation / Analyzation / Monitoring?

Can LogicMonitor aggregate / analyze / monitor logs from Windows Server IIS, outside of more system-wide Netflow?

I checked out adding an Event Source of type log file, and pointed it at a directory of IIS logs, which were located on a remote server (so, I used a UNC path pointing from the collector to the remote system, which was on the same subnet), but, I'd rather not have to specify an alert along with it, and because of that, I'm not sure if it's working as I'd hoped.

Basically, I'm looking for something on the level of Azure Monitor (aka Log Analytics) / SCOM (more info: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/platform/data-sources-iis-logs), or Naigos / SolarWinds / Sumo Logic.

This will likely do what you're looking for https://www.logicmonitor.com/logs

Otherwise, an EventSource is what you're looking for. The ultimate goal of an EventSource is to generate alerts based on what's in the logs.

  • Well.. yes, that would certainly do it. Sorry I didn't see this before asking, and thanks for the link!
