Unclear GD Collector 37.000 Release

Over the last week I saw the collector install was defaulting to v.37.000 (General Release).

This seems like an issue in light of:

  1. There have been no Early Release collectors in the 37 version previous to this release
  2. There were no release notes for this until today, which only lists "A minor fix"

Are others experiencing this, and is there any other information about this major version jump?

  • GD 37 is based on EA 36, so I don't see an issue. 37.000 is the same as 36.500, but with the Host Status fix.

Release notes are now out for 37.100 https://www.logicmonitor.com/release-notes/ea-collector-37-100

  • bumping this for any knowledge sharing! 🙂

I see my collector deployment options are now restricted to:

    • v. 37.100 (Early Release) no announcement or release notes currently
    • v. 37.000 (General Release) this has been updated with some minimal release notes yesterday, not what is typical to previous major version notes
    • v. 35.003 (Required Release) this is expected

I recall previous announcements mentioning collector releases in 2025 would deprecate Groovy v.2, which is why I'm wary of upgrades which may break modules. I would much rather know when a collector is released which is exclusive to Groovy v.4, and test that outside of production resources.
