So are you saying a collection method like DNS will also update heartbeat ?
That is how I'm reading the documentation, but your right that it wouldn't make that much sense for that particular method to update it.
You may need to reach out the support to see if they can get you a complete official list. I generally don't run into too many problems with heartbeat until it alerts but I find the device is still ok.

Usually works fine when ping is working but we have scenarios where ping is not enabled. Sorry to say but LM support has been really disappointing as of now. I have a case open but they are telling me that may be your collector has more load due to which heartbeat is getting calculated in 5 mins 😂

The trick to check that is look at the device reporting HostStatus. If say HostStatus always clears at a specific interval, that means yeah its going to be most likely DataSource related as at say 10 minutes a specific DS is checking in and doing HostAlive. I have seen this with one of the SSL Cert ones, where whatever other DataSources the device had working didn't contribute to HostAlive but SSL Certs did, so the device would go down and 10 minutes later would come back up because ever 15 the SSL DS would run.
