API best way to query a bunch of groups? Filter? Other?

I decided to avoid the issue completely by just having users tag Resource Groups with the Property themselves, so I get the clean solution. But if anyone has any recommendations on how to best do pulls on a large list of IDs of an object of a certain type, from the API generally, that'd be great. :)
