Adding Instance description in the alert for email notification

HI , We have a requirement to add the Instance description as Part of alert to be sent to Email but as instance description doesnot have a token available how can we add it to be part of the alert

I don’t think their documentation is right though. It says if DSI description is not available, “null” will be returned. It’s been my experience that and empty string (“”) is returned, which is worse because the token system doesn’t support templating. So you get things like “XYZ device with instance ABC with description  has a value of N”. 

I’m totally on board with a better templating system. Jinja2 would be my preference. it’s widely used, supported, and been around for quite a while.
