We had another customer environment where agent-less monitoring of Windows is impractical.  They've secured tier 0 servers to CIS level 2, disabling remote connections to WinRM in the process.  This breaks some of the out-the-box LogicMonitor modules for Windows, and breaks a bunch of our custom modules too.  A lightweight agent on those machines would avoid this problem I believe.
