Feature request: SDT timings similar to Patch Tuesday schedules in Azure

Basically within azure you can schedule patches for the second Tuesday of the month +n days so you can apply patches the Thursday after patch Tuesday, which doesn’t necessarily fall on the second Thursday of the month, Take the current month as an example,  the second Thursday falls before patch Tuesday

Would love a feature option with SDT to accomplish this for more automation instead of having to set up an SDT for patching every month.

  • I have a customer asking for the same thing, being able to link their resources in Azure Arc dynamically to their LM SDT windows.   They don't want to have to repeat the process and introduce possible typos or forget something.    Can we group with tags or to groups in Arc?

Are the tags part passed down to the resource level? If so, I would simply create a dynamic group based on the tags in concern and control the SDT that way.

I think there's two issues at play with Jason's issue:

        1. LM doesn't have the ability to apply an SDT +n days after day in the month

        2.  LogicMonitor doesn't seem to have any understanding of Azure Arc enabled servers.

For the second part, we've written a prop source that queries the Azure Management APIs to go and get the tags for any servers we've added into LM but that are actually Azure Arc enabled servers (we have to add an client id, key, subscription ID or it to go look them up).  Then we add those props into a dynamic group.

  • We would like to see exactly the same capability.  We have customers using the days offset option in Azure Update Manager and we're not able to align SDTs in LogicMonitor against this.

I raised it via feedback (probably only a couple weeks after this post actually) but thought I'd also +! this.
