We've started using this feature as well and come to the same conclusion. While it works really well, it is quite difficult to analyse what happened after things clear because key fields that show why an alert was suppressed get cleared.
It does describe the behaviour on this page in the documentation: Enabling Dependent Alert Mapping | LogicMonitor
Note: The values reported in the Dependent Alert Mapping columns will only display when an alert is active. Once it clears, the values within the column will clear, while the original Dependent Alert Mapping metadata will remain in the original alert message.
Although it's clearly been implemented this way by design, I can't understand why you would want to remove data that would be useful for retrospective analysis.
