AWS Neptune Datasource Request

Hello,

AWS has a newish service called Neptune.  It's similar to RDS.  At the moment, it seems LM and Neptune Cloudwatch Metrics do not jive.  It would be great if we had a neptune datasource so we can monitor these instances.

Hi @Jay - Thanks for the request! We should be able to easily add out of the box support for AWS Neptune. I'll add it to the queue for an upcoming release. In the meantime, you can add your Neptune graph db instances into LM manually & grab the CloudWatch metrics per these instructions.

  • Hi, were there any updates on this? Is AWS Neptune now supported as a native data source?

Hi  @Ravi, Yes - The AWS Neptune DataSource was published already & should apply to RDS instances with the neptune db engine property in your LM account. Let us know if you have any questions about this!

  • ok Thanks! https://docs.aws.amazon.com/neptune/latest/userguide/cw-metrics.html is not very clear which metric is at the cluster level and which one is at instance(s) level. Like VolumeBytesUsed  in our LM setup is coming back as "No Data". We are still trying to find out if it is a problem with our setup. But just throwing in out here in case you know of any issues with metrics at instance level vs cluster levels in AWS Neptune... Sorry I don't have the complete picture right now from our end. Still working through it.
