More control over dashboard / widget display - stacking, side by side, variable width

Here is a minor cosmetic request.

When setting up a widget dashboard I may have 4 or 10 widgets I want to display, each of varying width.

I know that I can position these as I wish, but I would like more control.

I may want certain widgets displayed at the top, others in the middle, etc.

These widgets may be of different width. Example NOC vs Alerts.

Example: Display NOC widgets side by side ( as many as I specify ) , then display the alerts underneath in full width.

Here is some pseudo code for a table layout , similar logic could be used for div\'s

Widget 1Widget 2Widget 3 Widget 4 Widget 5Widget 6

Thanks,

Kevin

  • Thanks for the feedback, Kevin. This is great timing, were currently working on UI improvements and will be tackling the dashboard layout as part of it. We will keep this in mind.

  • I was going to add a feature request until I saw this. I too would like dashboard widgets to be re-sizable to include user-adjustable widget height. Many times I want the different widgets to be consistently sized across a row, especially when each row depicts a specific type of monitor or metric. If theyre not, each successive row would be progressively offset and makes for difficult viewing.

  • The new beta view of Dashboards is available in the next release. It is being rolled out through April, please check it out and send us your feedback!
