Location setup

I am setting up devices under groups, I have created a folder for the one kind of device, there are 100's of them. I am told by our Logic Monitor support that the device location has to be on each device. but when i setup the location on the folder it propagates to each device, but when a report is ran they are all coming back as missing device level location property,

    What type of report are you running? 

    If this is a custom report using data from the REST API, the location property wouldn't be a customProperties property in this particular scenario, but an inheritedProperties property. 

    IIRC, the Device Inventory report type in the Reports UI, should be able to give you inherited properties without issue.
