General Deployment Collector Now Available

The latest General Deployment (GD) Collector is now available in your LogicMonitor portal. After a number of Early Access collector revisions, the collector is considered stable for normal deployment in all situations. Please go ahead and upgrade your collectors in use to this latest GD21. The release notes can be found at http://www.logicmonitor.com/release-notes/general-deployment-collector-optional-21-0/, and represent a culmination of all Early Access releases since the GD20 release. Highlights include:
* A new BatchScript collection method for multiple-instanced script-based datasources
* Improvements to SNMP v3 data collection
* Support for embedded PowerShell in scripted datasources
* Script-based support for EventSource collection
* Automated (and better) collection of health details for monitored devices that are also collectors

If you notice any issues related to this collector, please contact us in support (https://support.logicmonitor.com/) so we can investigate with you.

  • We have become aware of two issues with the GD21 collector release:

    • * RC4 related ciphers are disabled in this collector version, which may cause data collection issues for servers which utilize RC4 connections.
    • * This collector version may cause SNMPv3 data collection task timeouts in some cases, due to engine time and engine boots not being synchronized correctly.

We will be releasing a new collector version with RC4 ciphers re-enabled & a fix for the SNMPv3 timeouts. The 21.019EA collector does not address these issues.
