FS mount point for Linux collector

We are having storage mounted for use by the system on which the Linux collectors are being installed. 
What is the mount point to have the storage attached to so that the Linux collector would be able to use it?  What is the default directory used by the collector for storage or caching of data?

Assume CentOS/RHEL distro.
