disable device monitoring

A client relayed to us that LM was causing problems on a device under monitoring.  I disagreed, but they wanted us to disable monitoring.  I can disable alerting, but cannot disable monitoring and AD of a device.  Please make that possible, or if it is, please let me know how...

The only hack-equivalent I can come up with is to use a fake IP and disable alerting, but a checkbox to just disable monitoring across the board (including AD) would be preferable.
