Can I monitor two hosts with the same ip address?

Hi,

Is this possible? I want to monitor the routers of two networks. They both have (internal) IPs of 192.168.0.1, naturally enough. Each is monitored by a different agent and each is (would be) in a different group (as in, one exists in one group, monitored by one agent, while I am attempting to add the second to a second group, monitored by a second agent).

However, when attempting to add the second, I get:

\'\'Unable to load data from the server - Host already exists\'\'

Is this possible?

Many thanks

  • Yes it's possible, so long as each host is monitored by a different collector, and has a unique display name (to make clear what alerts, etc are referring to.)

Note that you cannot add duplicate IPs using the Add Host wizard - you have to use the Add Device Expert mode.
