Applies To: ''buffer period'' before purging data
Hello,
I\'ve witnessed an issue twice now that is very concerning to me. If a
datasource definition is modified and an incorrect \'\'Applies To\'\' filter is
added or modified resulting in the datasource being removed from a device
then all historical data on previous checks is erased. I can understand the
logic on why the previous data was dumped but I do not understand why it\'s
not being retained for a least a buffer period of time to prevent this type
of data loss.
Is there anything that can be done to restore this historical data after it
is lost and can the application be changed to retain that data for a period
of time to skirt any bad rules destroying all the the historical data.
Thanks,
Patrick
