Allow alert numbers in left nav to be filtered

When viewing the default left nav, the total number of alerts for the entire platform is displayed.  At present, the only way to reduce this to "what we care about" is by using security permissions to lock users down to Device Groups.  I'd like to see a way to filter this number the same way you can on the Alerts view page.
