Alerts dashboard widget

Hi,

We're trying to use the alerts dashboard widget as a way for our team (sysadmins) to focus on alerts that only pertain to us and its not working as well as we'd hoped.

Issue 1, is the alert widget isn't showing all warnings and alerts. I opened a case about this and was told there is a limit to the number of alerts displayed in the widget. I'd like to see whatever limit that is, removed. We're looking for one place to check for all our alerts, and at the same time, keeping things from other departments out of site and out of mind. Unfortunately since we don't get all alerts, we're forced to use the main alerts view and comb through everyone's alerts.

2. I would like to see an "exclude" option. For example, we have a group called "Windows" In that group we might have "windows\webapp", "windows\exchange", "windows\SQL". I want to see everything in windows except windows\webapp. it would be nice if I could add in manual exclusions that over ride inclusions.

  • Yes, all of your alerts should appear. That's a bug, and we'll get a fix in there for v.72.

You can add a singular exclude now with glob, such as !windows\webapp. We're working on a way to both make this more user friendly and to allow for multiple excludes.
