Linux Processes via SSH

Does anyone know of a datasource(s) that can monitor Linux processes via SSH?  Unfortunately, SNMP is not an option for us.

Any new developments with this? We are looking for a Datasource that will monitor Linux Process's via SSH. We would like to know when the process has stopped and alert on that. We do not need the Performance metrics of the Process's.
