Let's talk about Swag...baby!

I like the idea of something a bit more practical. Maybe like a Raspberry Pi 5?? 😁🙏

@JaredM what if we had a being a friend to Community challenge. Your friend/colleague joins, replies and mentions you? You both get swag?

1. I’m fine with just LM Swag.
2. Hats, beanies, shirts (especially the really soft t-shirts), socks (can’t be cheap or it has the opposite of the intended effect), cups, gift cards. Top level swag: coolers, sweatshirts, blankets (but keep in mind that winter in Texas only lasts 8 days), Raspberry Pi for sure, robot kits for Raspberry Pi, video game consoles, Jeeps, Jeep parts, Jeep accessories, shoot I’d settle for a decent replacement alternator.
3. Code challenges for sure, but pick from the module backlog of the ME team. If the community came together to write something that a community member needed for their production environment, it would be awesome.
   Also LM automation coding challenges. How do you do bulk active discovery on a group of devices? etc.
4. Sure, but not all of it has to be physical swag. Points toward a swag shop are also an option.

What about an affiliate link to bring in others, particularly I'm thinking a champion ranking for bringing in coworkers.

I don’t have a lot of thoughts on the other questions, but swag is something I already have general thoughts on.

I’m really not into wearables for swag. T-shirts and hats especially are items that I always give away, I just will not use them. If I like a vendor I definitely will talk all about them to other folks, I don’t need to become a walking advertisement :)

I’d be more interested in stuff that have some sort of utility, like sticky notes, pens, flashlights, usb cables, etc. Stuff that is nicer quality (I know this might mean less to give away, but I will also just throw out flimsy pens or whatever if they don’t work.)

One really cool swag I got from a vendor at my last job was this really cool flashlight that the light part had a magnet in it and could be telescoped out from the body.

I’ve been trying to get a zipper hoodie from any of the groups I belong to… I’d vote for a zipper hoodie :)  Selfishly.  I have so many pullovers.

Hopefully, the ports won’t ground out on the pie tin.
