LogicMonitor launched its updated UI almost a year ago, and with every new launch, a lot of feedback came in - good, bad, and ugly. Since the inaugural launch, we have taken all customer feedback and iterated throughout 2024. We've noticed some myths about the new UI along the way, so we're here to bust them!

Myth 1: "The new UI is too slow!"

So, this one may not have been a myth to begin with, but it certainly is now! When we first launched the new UI, it was in a very beta state and had performance issues that many customers alerted us to. The product team and engineers have diligently worked on improving the speed of use in the new UI tremendously.

Muscle memory is another factor that may impact the speed of use in the new UI. If you were more familiar with the previous layout, switching to a new one may make users feel like the new UI needs to move faster or catch up. Fret not - the more you use the new UI, the quicker you will get at navigating different pages and actions to complete your everyday tasks.

If you are still experiencing any isolated slowness in your portals, submit feedback via the support page, even do a quick screen record, and send it to your CSM for reference. Our team will investigate and address the issue.

Myth 2: "The new UI is missing key capabilities from the old UI."

Many customers have expressed concerns that the new UI deprecated previous features and capabilities in the old UI. The team has worked to achieve parity between the new and old UIs, prioritizing the most commonly used features first. Once the parity was achieved, the team began the process of removing redundant or duplicative features to optimize the UI. If you haven’t explored the new UI in a while, revisit! Our top priority is to help customers maximize the new capabilities that may not have been present in the old UI.

Myth 3: "We can flip back to the old UI forever, so why use the new UI?"

We've heard customers are either (1) worried their teams will be stuck permanently with the ability to toggle between the new and old UIs or (2) resistant to switch because they still have access to the old UI.

To address the first concern, if you reach out to your CSM, we can remove the toggle and default to the new UI.

Secondly, we plan to gradually sunset the old UI features and capabilities, starting with Settings, Websites, and Reports. The highly used areas like Resources and Dashboards will be the last to have the old UI removed to ensure a smooth transition for all customers. Customer feedback and adoption of the new UI will help accelerate the timeline for completely removing the toggle, providing a secure and confident transition for all while ensuring you have access to all of the newest features.

Do you have any additional insights about the new UI? We value your input and would love to hear from you, and we may even address them in a future post. Leave a comment below, letting us know!
