LM Integration with FreshService Alert Management Module

Hello, We are looking to enhance our usage of Logic Monitor by tying it into the Alert Module within Fresh Service. First, is there anyone here who also uses Fresh Service and the alert module? I'd like to chat and see if we can collaborate. Second, any general recommendations for integrating Logic Monitor with an external ticketing tool? Specifically, we are looking to keep the noise down by only creating tickets based on a particular severity, for particular assets, and at particular times. If there is anything you can provide that would be helpful.

Can token values be evaluated in a complex datapoint?

I would like to construct a conditional datapoint which returns a value if the instance WILDVALUE is equal to a match, otherwise a different value is returned.Is it possible in expressions or groovy script complex datapoints to include tokens such as ##WILDVALUE##? Ideas to maintain thresholds across thousands of devices and even more instances.

I have an ask to standardize some thresholds based on device type. We break out folders out like so:Clients/CLIENTID/Location/TechstackWe then have roll up folders under each client for reporting/automationClients/CLIENTID/ZZZ_Firewalls The ask brought to myself and my team is to standardize thresholds based on techstack. The first one I was given is that all Firewalls should have status and X% for in/out on Interfaces. My first idea was to script it and use our automation platform to run daily or every other day to check if a threshold is set, and if not, set it. The issue there is on the initial dry run, I am at over 11 hours and maybe 40% through. This script loops through each client ZZZ_Firewalls folder, gets the interfaces, then checks if a threshold is set. If not, it sets the base threshold. I figured I would break it in half A-N and M-Z and run both concurrently. But in testing M-Z, 1 client is taking almost 10 hours, and I have another of the same size in that block. I also h

When an anomaly isn't an anomaly what could i do?

What can i do when anomaly detection wont work ( something that is seen on a regular basis, and dynamic threshold also wont help where it is within range?For example a drive on a server gets filled with data ( drive is normally cleared down on a daily basis ) but when someone decides to upload a larger than expected amount the drive hasn't been cleared or with other uploads throughout the day there isn't enough space.You are happy if the drive is above 80% during the night because if it hasn't cleared it can be dealt with in the morning ( no need to get anyone out of bed ) but if there is a rapid spike ( more than 2.5% growth in used space in a 30min period ) then they need an alert to get out of bed and fix / make enough room for the data.A possible solution is a datasource that will alert if the drive is over the 80% but only with that rapid growth.DataSource calls the api for the last 30min worth of data and calculates the growth rate. SNMPv3 Password Character Set Restrictions?

I’m working on adding a hundred or so Long Strong SNMPv3 passwords into a class of device we’re going to start monitoring. I’m can walk the snmp locally, from a linux neighbor, but not from LM. I’m getting a password error. I assume the issue is that the password is being encoded for storage/delivery. Has anyone else experienced this? If my assumption is correct, what is the restricted character set when pairing LM with Linux SNMP?LM ticket #424608 for internal reference.

LinuxNewProcesses DataSource -- Auto discovery and key off of HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSWRunName

Hello all!I just wanted to share my edits. I never could get LinuxNewProcesses to work for my needs.. but we really wanted it to also have auto discovery and automatically add a list of toolsets that we have deployed across the board.I did this LONG ago and my wildvalue was the PID… but that’s dangerous and I ended up creating thousands of entries in the LM database because my processes (thousands of them) were always changing. . . .this takes a different approach and keys off of the process name.#1 You just need to have a property defined with a comma separated list These names need to be from “HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSWRunName”#2 My polling is every minute but don’t alert unless it’s been down for an hour… for my scenario, I do this on purpose because some of my applications run for about 5 minutes and then aren’t kicked off again for another 10… so adjust as needed :)The status is under a security review right now.. Using REST API from ServiceNow Scripting

I would like to use the REST API from ServiceNow but I'm not able to generate the HMAC using the ServiceNow Glide System native class GlideCertificateEncryption(), the resulting values don't match with what I would expect from Python or PowerShell. Are there any ServiceNow developers out there who have managed to call the LogicMonitor REST API from a ServiceNow script? Complex Goovy Datapoint Conditional Statement

I would like to construct an evaluation in a complex datapoint for disk volume--my goals is to evaluate if a disk is both above 90% capacity and has less than 100GB space available. The current thresholds only based on percentages are less valuable with high capacity volumes. This is a WMI collection type, and I have been able to return the values of theses variables:output["FREESPACE"] output["CAPACITY"]However, as soon as I attempt to put conditions into a groovy statement I am not able to return a value. Palo Alto XML Response Help

I am interested in improving some of the Palo Alto monitoring and would like to create a datasource that looks at the chassis led’s for a particular alarm status. Using the XML API explorer the command is this:<show><system><state><filter>chassis.leds</filter></state></system></show>The response is below and without using the filter parameter the result body is a giant mess of information. I’ve taken an existing ds, cloned it but my scripting knowledge of xmlslurper, parsetext and such is failing to discover anything. Also the response below is not in the typical format the output of the other PA datasources have with regards to slots etc.. so I’m stuck on the output part of my script and it doesn’t discover anything. What I want is an instance named chassis.leds and then data from a couple of the values below. Once I get this working I would likely create another DS that checks the status of the disk RAID configuration. How would

Monitoring folders on Windows servers

I was recently asked by a customer if it was possible to monitor the size of a folder or the file count in a folder on a Windows server. Well there sure is, <whistles> YO UNC Monitor- come on down.UNC Monitor- is part of the Core DS, the DSs that are installed by default when LogicMonitor is first deployed. As seen on the UNC Monitor Description section:Great, there is a way to do this. Ok how do I do this? Hmm? Well looking at the next section of the DS, Technical Notes. Add an instance manually, oooohh k. But how do I perform this specific voodoo? Hmm maybe if I look further down on the DS? Ok there is the Groovy Script, what do I get when I run the Test Script? Ok so I do have 5 folders that contain 41 files using a total of 7,013 KB. High CPU after Collector Upgrade to 33.002

HiWe have seen a couple of collectors CPU increase by between 20 -30% after this upgrade and just interested if anyone else has seen this behaviour ?
