Where did the search bar go in the community?

So I cannot seem to find the Search bar anymore in the community here? Was it hidden? If I do a Ctrl+F in chrome and look for "search" it does find something but its hidden it seems. How are we supposed to look for previous threads?

Clarification on JDBC MSSQL Datasources credentials

Hi All, Having issues setting up the JDBC Mssql Datasources using Windows authentication. Can I use a domain account with necessary sql permissions other than the the account the collector is running for the jdbc mssql datasources?  If yes, what are requirements for properties (jdbc.mssql.user, jdbc.mssql.pass and jdbc.mssql.url? OpsGenie not acking through to LogicMonitor, when LM is using SSO

Hello, I have an LM installation with an OpsGenie integration. This uses an API to go to OG, which works fine, but the back-channel acking from OpsGenie to LogicMonitor doesn't work, either by the stated UserID and Password, as per the documentation, or via API tokens. The username and password credential works fine when logging into LogicMonitor, and the token method works via a Python script test, but the OpsGenie debug says "authentication failed" It looks like the OpsGenie documentation fails after LM turns on SSO. This has to be a common implementation... Has anyone found out how to make this work? Any tips?

checl cisco devices for error disabled ports

Hi everyone, I'm working on getting my Cisco switches monitored and found that I cannot see, at least by default, to logic monitor to alert me when a port is on "error disabled" mode. I found this KB but I'm not sure how to actually create the event that it mentions, may I ask the community for some help? Terraform disable alerts

I have just started deploying to LM using terraform and have found whenever it runs the updated groups have alerts disabled. This is despite the fact I have not set disable_alerting = Should I hard set this key/value to true?

RDP monitoring

Hello, I am looking for a way to monitor the RDP connection from one server to another - let say every 10 minutes. I don't want to check if port 3389 is open, etc. but need the LM to actually test the RDP connectivity. I was advised that I need to create a new Data Source which should have auto discovery enabled via Script and also Data Collection. I think for Data collection, I can put a simple power shell script but I don't know what kind of script I need to use for Auto Discovery. I tried without Auto Discovery by putting a line in "applies to" but that Data Source doesn't seem to appear when I click on the resource itself where other Data Sources are like Ping, CPU are (default ones applied when the resource was added to the LM system). if anyone has already configured this, please share how the Data Source should look like. Also how the alerting should be exactly configured so we will receive alerts for RDP failures. Thank you

Bug in CSV download from Chart?

Is there a bug in the CSV download option in a chart widget?  If I set the time range to a custom time, say 1st Jan 2019 to now, the chart shows the correct data, but the CSV download only contains the current day's data.

Hello, I've been searching for Datasources related with Spanning Tree Protocol monitoring but didn't found one. Does this mean there's no out-of-box datasources for STP monitoring? This is extremly useful in terms of monitoring. Appreciate the feedback.

Reporting APC PDU power usage

I have a client looking to monitor their colo rack power usage and have a monthly report showing consumed power. Ultimately, they want to be sure they are being billed fairly by their hosting data center for the amount of power consumed. the basic Idea is to use the snmp info from the PDU to aggregate the monthly power consumed. Logic monitor has APC PDU data sources that include a "live" view of the amps per phase on the 3 phase PDU Ideally, we want to avoid using APC datacenter expert or the like to manage the data. Has anyone worked on converting the amps to kilowatts and reporting on that directly in logic monitor?

Making a Backup for Cisco ISE in LogicMonitor

I am trying to setup a ConfigSource in LogicMonitor for Cisco ISE backups. We want the backup to only pull when a change is made in ISE. The out-of-the-box Cisco_IOS and Cisco_NXOS ConfigSources don't seem to work for ISE. So I tried to make a ConfigSource from the LM page https://www.logicmonitor.com/support/logicmodules/articles/creating-a-configsource but I haven't been able to get it to work properly. I made a copy of Cisco_IOS so I could have the Config Checks and removed the scripts. Logic Monitor and MS Teams

LM Community, Is LogicMonitor configurable to monitor Microsoft Teams environments? I use LogicMonitor in the NOC that I am employed. LM works great with our data network clients but we have some UC customer and the tools we use could be a lot better and if LM is compatible it would be a game changer for us!   Thank you in advance for any info! Schedule SDT for specific events within a EventSource??

Hello everyone, We've multiple Event Sources setup (each one of them covers multiple events (different sources & event IDs). They're kinda in the same category but they cover different events (example Backup Related Events - within those there's multiple applications, event IDs, etc...). Our question here comes if we need to filter a specific event (within one of those Event Sources) on a specific period of the day. For example, ServerA is returning some events at 2AM EST but those are related with a scheduled job that occurs daily, one of our clients requested us to filter those events (daily from 2AM to 2:20 AM EST).  Is there any way to do an SDT (but with a specific criteria)? Without filtering the whole Event Source (that contains more events that shouldn't be suppressed at that time). The reason we've multiple events within a event source is to don't create a lot of Event Sources (thinking on the WMI usage here). We have multiple events on the same Event So

VMWare Guest OS counts

A couple of DataSources for your vCenters, that will show you counts of VMs per unique OS, or per OS family. They will look a bit like this: just i ...and... With further tweaking you could easily have these specifically pull out and therefore alert on the presence of "out of support" OSs (Windows 2000 and 2003, as per above screenshot!). Interestingly, quite often VMWare will list the family as 'null' while a full OS name is reported. I have no idea why, but that's what comes back from the API. Credentials are the same esx.user and esx.pass that you'll already have set for your vCenters, so just import the LogicModules and they'll apply and work. Pointing a collector to a synology on the network

Hello, I have the four properties  - Application - Owner - Patch Group - Technical Group I would like to have them 1. existing on all devices 2. the values should be mandatory and validated against a list of correct values... list of applications, list of users, list of patch group, list of technical group, ... Is there an easy wahy to do the (1) first and when it will be existing verifying the values (2).  I have see also some typo, misspelling in the property names how to detect them? As it seems all these fields are free for any input it is open to a mess !!! anyway to limit this? Thanks, Dominique

DataSource creation for Physical Host name in Hyper-V/Windows Environment

Hello, Im looking for some guidance in how best to create a Datasource that will provide the Physical Hostname of a Windows VM (will worry about Linux later). I have the following two Powershell queries that will provide the answer of the Physical Hostname:  $ComputerName = hostname # Remote Registry Method ([Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey]::OpenRemoteBaseKey('LocalMachine',$ComputerName)).OpenSubKey('SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Virtual Machine\Guest\Parameters').GetValue('PhysicalHostName') # WMI Method (([WMIClass]"\\$ComputerName\ROOT\DEFAULT:StdRegProv").GetStringValue(2147483650,'SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Virtual Machine\Guest\Parameters','PhysicalHostName')).sValue  Either method is fine and when ran from PowerShell return the value I’m looking for at least for the Hyper-V host that holds the VM role. Now the issue I am having is when trying to get this to work either using WMI, Groovy or Powershell either it errors or finds no instances. How I picture this working is

GET https://ServerName:443/ HTTP/1.0?

Hello, What does the command "GET https://servername:443/ HTTP/1.0" do in Logic Monitor? I have several errors : LMD20115590 warn - servername HTTPS-443 503_error ID: LMD20115590 The SSL page on servername is now returning Error Code 5xx. This started at 2020-08-25 18:24:40 PDT - or 0h 6m ago. the site on the server is: https://hrsystems.xxxxxx.xxxx.xxx/s/login.asp So nothing common with the error... It seems a firewall issue but I wanted to confirm first the purpose of the GET... Thanks, Dominique

Topology icons

I've been playing around with topology mapping with some success.  However, the icons displayed after the map is built are the standard IP and instance icons.  I've modified my custom ERI propertysources to try to get them to display something other than these two icons, but the icons never seem to change.  According to the LM documentation regarding these icons, I should be able to choose anything from the list:    Has anyone successfully been able to get the map to reflect the icons above?  For example, "predef.externalResourceType=AWS EC2" does not appear to do anything.  Nor does "LoadBalanceCollector" or "Load Balance Collector", etc.  I suspect there is a specific value associated with each of the icons and the value is case-sensitive.  However, out of all of the values listed in the image, none have worked for me.
