Pagination of Properties on Info tab
Summary: The discussion initiated by Matt Whitney Matt Whitney concerns a recent change in the LM Info tab, where properties are now paginated rather than displayed on a single page. Many users, including Joe Williams, Dave Lee, and Balint Pelhos, express frustration over this change, noting issues such as difficulty in finding properties and the disappearance of the inheritance column. Some users, like Joe Williams, suggest reverting to the previous display mode with an option to show all properties at once. Patrick Rouse, Patrick Rouse, acknowledges the feedback and is investigating the issues raised.
LM recently changed the Info tab so that properties are paginated, instead of all being on one page like they always have been.,
The default properties Per Page is 25 and can be adjusted up to 100. Changing this "Per Page" value is not persistent and always defaults to 25 after you log out.
This is a bad change and makes the UI worse in my opinion. I like the new ability to search/filter by property name, but paginating the properties page is bad and makes the UI even more clunky.
Anybody else agree or have different thoughts on this?

·6 months agoI agree here. It would definately be more valuable to be able to set these values in our own portal. We use properties quite extensively and it is a pain everytime to change the pagination.

·6 months agoI am still looking into this and thanks for your critical feedback.

·6 months agoAgreed with this and the other points about inheritance. I submitted a feedback request in the product about this yesterday as well.
Balint Pelhos
·7 months agoStrongly agree with the initial post. Unexpected "improvement", not even mentioned in release notes.
Additionally we are also frustrated by the "column that shows a property's inheritance has disappeared" problem. Not even an option here in "Column settings" to enable the "inheritence" column as 4th column.
Basic control+F searching doesn't work here anymore.
Dave Lee
·7 months agoAbsolutely agree with this. It's a step back in usability.
I've also noticed another problem. The column that shows a property's inheritance has disappeared. I raised a ticket with support a few weeks ago and I was told to go to the column settings and then hit the Reset button. That brought the column back.
I noticed a couple of days ago that it has disappeared again, but the Reset columns trick doesn't work. Another significant step back in usability - I often find it really useful to see immediately if a property is inherited or not... it makes it really clear which are device or instance specific props (as there is no inheritance shown).

OP7 months ago100% agree on the property inheritance column being useful, I ran into the same issue. Now when I look at a property I have no easy way to tell if it's inherited from a group, whether its an ILP, etc.
Joe Williams
·7 months agoI will be honest, I am impatient and this bit me in the butt late last week. I added a new auto property, and kept refreshing, not seeing it apply and I spent way longer than I would like to admit, debugging why the property wouldn't be applying. It was because it was on like page 5 of properties.
So in other words, please give us an option to just show it all. You aren't saving on API calls. Make the page size stick and then give an option in the profile to just show all.
