Seeking feedback on Nutanix monitoring
We are starting to monitor Nutanix environments in our datacenter, and I've downloaded all the LM modules, so they are ready to use. I'm looking for any success stories and feedback from users, because as of now I can get SNMP for system stats, but nothing from the Nutanix modules themselves.
Within Prism we added an SNMP user and the v.3 creds are in the LM resource. It appears the SNMP service needs to be restarted after configuring a user.

·8 months agoWe have new modules queued for release that use the Prism Central v4 API, which we certified via Nutanix Ready Validation on Acropolis Operating System 7.3 & 7.5 and Acropolis Hypervisor 10.5 & 11.0.

·9 months agoSo we do use the modules for Nutanix and they do work fine, the issue we have experienced is from time to time during upgrades the SNMP V3 credentials seem to get lost on the Nutanix side according to our infrastructure guys so have had to add some key metrics to alert on no data to track this.
Looking through our internal documents there is a statement that says after adding to LM if the data sources do not populate to do the following:

OP9 months agoNo, I still have not been able to onboard the handful of Nutanix resources we'd like to monitor.
The response I received from support two weeks ago was that "the Nutanix Prism Central integration is still in progress, and it’s not yet fully available in production." We also are on the current version 7, and the support engineer said only version 6 has been tested.
Again, the SNMP data is returning for the system performance (CPU, Disk, Memory, etc), but not for any of the NutanixCluster modules. In the case of those modules, when testing the SNMP walk returns with a timeout.

·9 months agoAlso try just adding one of the CVM's - we get data from CVM not prism.

OP8 months agoWe were able to get SNMP data flowing a couple weeks ago to the Prism Element devices, not from Prism Central however.
We are very much looking forward to the new modules based on the v4 API!
