Setting to manually clear LM Logs alerts
Summary: Matt Whitney is requesting a feature in LM Logs that would allow users to manually clear alerts. Currently, alerts can only be cleared through clear conditions, time windows, or acknowledgments. However, due to the author's specific use of acknowledgments, they are seeking an alternative method for manually clearing alerts. This request comes from the need to resolve issues when a stateful clear message is not received, thus avoiding waiting for the set time window to expire.
We would like to request an option to manually clear an alert generated from LM Logs. Similar to how you can disable/re-enable alerting using the Alerting toggle for datasource alerts.
For stateful LM Logs alerts you have 3 options to clear an alert. The clear condition, the time window, and acknowledging the alert if that setting is enabled.
Because of the way we use acknowledgements, we don't want to manually clear a log-based alert by acknowledging it. But we still need a method to manually clear a log-based alert in certain situations.
An example would be if a stateful clear message is not received or ingested by LM when an issue is resolved. We want the option to manually clear the alert without waiting for the "Clear After" time window.
