Log Alerting - Clearing of stateful alerts
Summary: Matt Whitney raised a concern about the time limits for clearing alerts in LM Logs. They noted that the current maximum interval of 4 days is inconvenient for Stateful alerts, which should not have a set time limit as they clear based on specific conditions. Matt Whitney suggested extending the time limit to 30+ days or removing it entirely. Sky Donnell responded, acknowledging the issue and promised to forward the feedback to the product team.
With alerts configured via LM Logs, we have the option to clear alerts after a certain time interval. The maximum time interval is 4 days.
This is fine for Basic or Window-based log alerts where we have no clear condition, but with Stateful alerts there should be no maximum time that the alert can be active for.
The purpose of Stateful alerts is to trigger an alert based off of a matching log, and then clear the alert based off of a different matching log which would indicate the issue is resolved. This would be great, except the maximum time limit of 4 days still applies to Stateful alerts.
Please either increase the maximum time limit for Stateful alerts to something more reasonable like 30+ days, or remove the limit altogether so that the alert can only be cleared via the defined clear condition, or an Acknowledgement of the alert in LM.

I can see how this can be a pain point with alerting. I will submit this feedback to our product team. Thank you for your insights!
