Enhancing Edwin AI Integration for Seamless User Experience
Summary: Mahesh Navale initiated a discussion on the potential of enabling Edwin AI to operate independently of the Envision portal for a smoother workflow, especially for ServiceDesk teams. Jan Garaj responded, noting that this feature was requested before but is hindered by Edwin AI's current "oauth" authentication that causes compatibility issues, such as not working in Firefox. Jan Garaj suggested implementing a standard OIDC system for easier access across applications and recommended this authentication method be made available to customers for their own tools.
Currently, users are required to log into the Envision portal or cross-launch from it to utilize Edwin AI. This additional step can be cumbersome, especially for ServiceDesk teams who need a streamlined process. Let's discuss the potential of allowing Edwin AI to function independently, directly from the incidents summary without the need to log into another system.

·3 months agoOther users asked for this feature already in the past. Problem is that Edwin AI is using weird, hackish, cookie based "oauth" authentication (what it is BTW a reason why Edwin AI doesn't work in the Firefox, because that one blocks third party cookies by default). So you need LM cookie first and only then you can access Edwin AI.
I would say implement proper standard OIDC instead of hackish custom auth and then auth for other apps (Edwin AI, Catchpoint, user tools) will be simple SSO OIDC request.
And please open OIDC auth to customers, so they can use it for own tools.
