Let's talk about Swag...baby!
I am interested to know
- Do you want LM Community Swag, LM Swag, Both or none?
- What kind of swag do you like? Hats, beanies, shirts, socks, mugs/cups, gift cards, maybe for top level swag, coolers, sweatshirts, blankets? (Ferrari, Jeep, beach travel, are out of budget ;)
- What are some Community activities you would be willing to participate in to get swag? Contests, quiz, challenge, other?
- What about swag for ranks and leveling up?
Please leave your thoughts and ideas. If you have no interest, that’s ok too.

·2 years agoHaving gotten swag for years from conferences and other vendor advocate programs my main feedback would be to give it out less frequently but with higher quality items that aren’t immediately destined for the trash bin.
Something cool that I’ve seen recently, which is nice as a government/education employee that has restrictions on what can be accepted, is being able to donate the value of swag to a registered 501.3c charity.

·2 years ago1. I like having both community and general swag.
2. I prefer hats and shirts - but like the ideas for top-level swag.
3. I'm open to collaborative projects, virtual scavenger hunts, or maybe even monthly swag lotteries to earn swag.
4. Swag for leveling up sounds great.

@JaredM as requested 😀. Refer a Friend.
Note: right now we only have hats and limited t-shirt sizes, hoping to have more swag to choose from by end of month, so please refer as many people as you like 😉
One really cool swag I got from a vendor at my last job was this really cool flashlight that the light part had a magnet in it and could be telescoped out from the body.
@pgordon I have one of those! They are awesome!
Hopefully, the ports won’t ground out on the pie tin.
😂 We’ll have to make it in a cardboard pie pan!

Stupid community can’t even handle gifs.
Here’s your Raspberry PI with a lemon LM logo: 😂

·2 years ago@JaredM what if we had a being a friend to Community challenge. Your friend/colleague joins, replies and mentions you? You both get swag?
Yes, I’m good with this and think it would build incentive within my team.

·2 years agoI like the idea of something a bit more practical. Maybe like a Raspberry Pi 5?? 😁🙏

·2 years agoI’ve been trying to get a zipper hoodie from any of the groups I belong to… I’d vote for a zipper hoodie :) Selfishly. I have so many pullovers.
I appreciate all the feedback! Keep it coming! I’ll be ordering new swag soon, so if a hat/t-shirt is not on your list of favorites, stay tuned.

·2 years agoI don’t have a lot of thoughts on the other questions, but swag is something I already have general thoughts on.
I’m really not into wearables for swag. T-shirts and hats especially are items that I always give away, I just will not use them. If I like a vendor I definitely will talk all about them to other folks, I don’t need to become a walking advertisement :)
I’d be more interested in stuff that have some sort of utility, like sticky notes, pens, flashlights, usb cables, etc. Stuff that is nicer quality (I know this might mean less to give away, but I will also just throw out flimsy pens or whatever if they don’t work.)

Also anyone who replies to this post gets swag! PM me your address and I'll send you a hat or a T-shirt 😁😁

·2 years agoWhat about an affiliate link to bring in others, particularly I'm thinking a champion ranking for bringing in coworkers.
