Services alerts based upon ping response times
I encountered an issue today that has surfaced a few times in the past where some huge transfer that\'s ongoing really drove up my ping response times.
Currently, there\'s no way to set an alert threshold on outside response time.
I\'d love to have the ability to set a threshold that would trigger alerts based upon the response times.

·10 years agoPing checks in Services had response time alerts added at the start of the year. Hopefully everyone noticed from the release notes or their account managers!
(We'll do better at responding to these requests, too.)

·11 years agoYou are right, in the Ping Service, there is no response time setting, nor a way to set alerting based on ping drop or individual ping response. rnThere is a response time setting on the Web Service Monitor, but I certainly see your point.rnIll send this around internally and see if there are plans around expanding this coverage.rn rnThanks,rnMichael

OP11 years agoWe have been able to set ping response times from inside of our network, but not from the outside using the Ping (multi) datasource, but still have no way to alert on slow pings from the outside.
